Statek zawinął do stolicy kraju Castries.

Our first stop after leaving Barbados was the beautiful island of Saint Lucia. The ship sailed to the capital of the country Castries. Saint Lucia is a bigger island than Barbados but less populous. The most famous landmark on the island are the Pitons. Two mountains, near the city of Soufrière, of volcanic origin raising straight from the sea. The view is splendid. Since 2004  the Pitons have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lokalne biura oferują mnóstwo wycieczek po wyspie. My zdecydowaliśmy się na Top 10 of Saint Lucia.

Local companies offer lots of trip to explore the island. We booked Top 10 of Saint Lucia. It was a 6-hour long excursion along the western coast, from the capital towards the Pitons.

During the excursion we visited a craft studio where we could watch local artists and their works. Coconut palms, banana trees and the Pitons are an often theme and are carved and presented in local art. A coconut palm is referred as 'the tree of life' on the island.

Krótki postój w Canaries, czas na szybkie rozpostowanie nóg i kupno pamiątek, trzeba szybko wracać do autokaru, jeszcze sporo na nas czeka.

Short stop in Canaries, stretch your legs, buy souvenirs and get back on the bus, as there is still plenty to see.

Leaving Canaries

Our last stop was a garden, where our guide Denver showed local fruits. There are many on the island, including mango, star fruit, pomegranate and cashew nuts. We also could see how a cacao fruit looks like. Next we went to the bar on the other side of the road. A perfect spot to watch the Pitons and the nearest area.

Yes, this nasty thing is the inside of a cacao fruit!

Another view on the Pitons. The tree with red flowers is called Flamboyant.
That happened on the way back, a flat tire... It was dealt with quickly with a lot of passing by drivers stopping to help!
